The Story Behind Hendricks and Co
Scrappy Designs by Lesley Parsons
Luckily I learnt to sew quite young, firstly making clothes for myself with varying degress of success, and more lately dabbling in upholstery.
My love of wildlife, and hares in particular, lead to the creation of Hendricks Scrappy Hare in 2019 and the interest on various sewing groups in 2020 inspired me to produce the PDF pattern. I was overwhelmed by the response and that in turn lead to the creation of further patterns. Little did I know I would end up with so many.
My ethos is on creating something for next to nothing, so I have a big emphasis on recycling and reusing fabrics destined for landfill. If you delve into your scrap box and create a scrappy animal with mindful stitchery, whilst enjoying a creative process, and produce a decorative piece for your home or a loved one, that would be a sheer delight for me.
